Relay for Life was a really fun experience! I arrived at 6pm to get some of our teammates started. I then was back to walk from 8 to 11 with my unexpected partner - Kris. Thanks Kris. He was a really good sport. We were really tired after 3 hours of walking in circles. I also walked from 4 to 6am. There was entertainment the entire night and many, many people selling food and treats. Lots of money was raised on behalf of the American Cancer Society. We hope to do it again next year! Thanks to all those who participated with us.

Interested in joining a Relay for Life team? We are trying to get one together. Our local event is being held Friday, May 22nd at 6pm - 6am at the Hauula playground/community park. I have already signed up a team. I am trying to get 10 people committed to one team and if we have more that will be great - 2 teams! I have heard that the cost is either $5 or $10 per person (registration fee). We can also raise money for our team but do not have to. This is an inexpensive way to help out a good cause.
Please let me know if you would like to do this walk. Comment with your email.

Here is some info off the Relay for Life website:

What is Relay For Life?

Relay For Life is the American Cancer Society’s signature activity. It offers everyone in a community an opportunity to participate in the fight against cancer. Teams of people camp out at a local high school, park, or fairground and take turns walking or running around a track or path. Each team is asked to have a representative on the track at all times during the event. Relays are an overnight event, up to 24 hours in length.

Teams of people from all walks of life have fun while raising much-needed funds to fight cancer and raise awareness of cancer prevention and treatment.

No matter who you are, there’s a place for you at Relay.

Relay For Life is a life-changing event that brings together more than 3.5 million people to:

• Celebrate the lives of those who have battled cancer. The strength of survivors inspires others to continue to fight.
• Remember loved ones lost to the disease. At Relay, people who have walked alongside people battling cancer can grieve and find healing.
• Fight Back. We Relay because we have been touched by cancer and desperately want to put an end to the disease.

seen and heard

I love reading "seen and heard's" on other mommy blogs because kids really do and say the darndest things. Yes, I did use the word darndest. So it makes me happy realizing that Niki is talking a ton and really is so funny. So I'm going to try to remember some of her funny moments as she converses with me and makes me laugh. Here is one from today.

Niki: coughs and says "I sick."
Mommy: "You're sick?"
Niki: "No. I happy!" Yaaaayyyy!

Any good "seen and heard's" in your life lately?

Sorry to the Jazz fans out there. We are Lakers fans in this house. Kris is very happy about the Lakers beating the Jazz the first round of the playoffs and expects them to be the Western Conference winners and the Finals champs.
If you care at all about this, who are you (or your husband) rooting for in the NBA Finals?

That is what Niki kept saying today.
Thank you Auntie Molly for the cute dress!

Here is the sweaty beast hunting for eggs

We had a really fun egg hunt and lunch with friends. It was such a beautiful day!
I hope everyone enjoyed their Easter Sunday.
